Rajesh Thokale has led Pratham’s youth program since 2005 and spearheads all aspects of our 100 vocational training centers across the 16 states in India. He is co-founder of Sanchar InfoTech, an affiliate organization of Pratham Education Foundation and has been associated with Pratham since its inception in 1994. Rajesh completed his engineering degree from Sardar Patel College of Engineering specializing in civil engineering.
Azeez Gupta co-leads Pratham’s vocational training program since 2014. Azeez was formerly a management consultant with McKinsey and Company in their Delhi office. He holds a Bachelor in Technology (B. Tech) degree in Production and Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. Azeez is a development sector geek and passionate about creating long-term social impact in India. His other passions are sports and books.
Medha Uniyal has been working in Pratham since January, 2015. She leads the Program Development team for vocational training – involving overall responsibilities of impact evaluation and new innovations. She was formerly a journalist and continues writing about Pratham’s work in publications like The Guardian, Outlook, Indian Express, among others. Medha studied Mass Media at St. Xavier’s Mumbai and during her time at college, worked with several grassroots organizations in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and also taught underprivileged students while working with a Mumbai-based NGO.
Rohit has been working with Pratham for more than 5 years, as the Head of Hospitality & Automotive programs. Rohit has completed his diploma in Hotel Management and PGDBA in HR. He started his career as a Chef in various 5 star Hotels in Mumbai. He then decided to shift to the social sector and worked for 7 years in organizations Kotak Education Foundation and Yuva before moving to Pratham. In his spare time, Rohit says, he loves playing and cooking for his 5 year old daughter.
Sanjay Lokhande joined as a part of the implementation team in 2010, and currently heads the Mobilization team and Construction Program. He comes with 5 years of experience at Coro for literacy in Community work, 7 years of experience at Sampark in Advocacy related work, 7 years of experience at Vikas Sahyog Prathishthan in youth development programs.
Anita Gangurde has been associated with Pratham since its 1994. She joined as a Balwadi teacher at the young age of 20 before moving onto other programs. Anita worked as the Western Zonal in-charge at Niramaya Health Foundation (also under Pratham) for 8 years before joining to Pratham Institute in 2007, as the Head for the Healthcare Program. Currently, she is also overseeing the Tailoring Training and Entrepreneurship Program.Anita loves singing and acting, and has won received many accolades for the same.
Nitin started out as the Content and Training head for the Computer Hardware and Networking course with Pratham. Today, he heads the Automotive Training Program that runs in various states across the country. Nitin has completed his Diploma in Industrial Electronics from Bharti Vidyapeeth College, Khargar. Nitin loves to engage in all sorts of outdoorsy activities and loves playing all sports, especially cricket.
Rani Sharma has been associated with Pratham since its inception in 1994. Rani joined as a Balwadi teacher at the young age of 15, and actively working with us ever since. Rani has been associated with and led various programs under Pratham, such as Healthcare, Education and most recently, Vocational Training. For the past 5 years, Rani has been serving in the capacity of the Head for the Beauty Training and Entrepreneurship Program. She is a Sociology Graduate. Rani enjoys travelling and watching movies with her son and husband.
Sanjay Shinde has been associated with Pratham since 2005. He comes with considerable amount experience in the social sector and has worked in organizations like REAP and India Bulls Foundation. Currently, Sanjay coordinates the Emerging Entrepreneurs Program running across 4 states and oversees the certification process for all students that pass out of our Training programs. He has completed his BSW from Nirmala Niketen College of social work, Mumbai. Sanjay loves reading all sorts of books and listening to music when he’s not working.
A perfectionist by nature, Jagruti Raval joined Pratham Institute in 2011. Jagruti heads the placements team for Construction & Electrical, Automotive and Healthcare Skilling programs. She is a graduate in Commerce and Economics from SIES College and has completed her journalism from Somaiya Institute of Management & Research Center and is currently pursuing her LLB from Asmita College of Law.Jagruti loves "interactions" and actively engages fellow employees in different fun activities.
Amruta Damle Heads the Hospitality Placement Division at Pratham. She has completed her diploma in Hotel Management & a degree of Business Administration from the University of Manipal. After pursuing her degree, she worked at Global Vision Cancer Care NGO for 3 years as a Branch Manager.
A super workaholic and on the toes every second, Kalindi Soni, known as the “MIS Queen” of Pratham Institute joined PI in the year 2013. Kalindi hales from the orange city Nagpur and is a graduate in Biostatistics from Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad. She has done her masters in Statistics form Nagpur University. Kalindi loves to writing articles and watching creative video. An outgoing, fun person, she likes to gift handmade gifts to fellow employees.
Popularly known as Shree, Shrikant Deshmukh hales from a small village from Maharashtra. During his graduation, he learnt about Pratham and started off as a volunteer. Since 2008, Shree has been associated with various programs of Pratham and currently heads the PSTC Program. Shree loves to travel, meet new people. With Pratham, he got the opportunities to travel and know the ground realities rural India. He believes in growing together and learning from each other. His favorite pass time is playing cricket and photography.
Balvinder Singh joined Pratham in January 2002. He completed his graduation from Ramjas College, Delhi University and his MBA in Finance from Punjab University. He has more than 12 years of experience in accounting, administrative & logistics in corporate & non-profit organization. He has vast experience in Financial Process & Internal Control Procedures, Cross Functional Integration for MIS, Auditing & Compliance and Liaison with Financial Institutions and General Administration.
Manisha joined Pratham in March 2011. She heads our internal capacity building team. She is responsible for designing and conducting Pratham’s Leadership Development Programme. She also works on the content development and training of trainers for programs like the Foundation Course for Employability. Manisha holds a Doctorate in Management and a Masters in Economics. She has worked in the field of education and training for the last eighteen years.
Prem being a co-founder of Pratham Infotech Foundation, he joined Pratham in 1994 and was a part of the core team that laid the foundations on which the organization has been built. Having worked as the Chief accountant for Pratham, in 1998, Prem helped set up 15 computer labs in municipal schools of different wards of Mumbai, with the help of ICICI bank. The initiative called Pratham InfoTech Foundation, which was co-founded by him with his team today reaches 1.75 lacs children from disadvantaged sections of society in 400 schools across 09 states of India.Having been earned a B.A. degree in Sociology from Pune, Prem Yadav did his Master of Resource Mobilization & Management from S. P.Jain Institute of Management, Mumbai. Besides contributing to many educational publications, especially on Computer related learning, he has been the Area Coordinator, CORO (Committee of Resource Organization for Literacy), Treasurer, Suvidha Co-operative, which was set up to operate the Integrated Waste Management Project; and is currently the Director of CAL & IT Training Program and a Trustee at Pratham InfoTech Foundation. Prem Yadav is a recipient of the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship - USA in 2010 and also TED speaker in World Economic Forum at Perm Region in Russia.
Smitin Brid is Principal of Pratham-IGNOU Community College (registered with IGNOU) and spearheading various training programs in the sectors of education (Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary), ICT and Vocational and Soft Skills. He is also Head of the Assessment and Certification division of Pratham Institute. Smitin holds a Masters degree in Public Administration, and has been working for the Universalization of Basic Education since 1996.
